"Kirishitan no Shima" (the Christian Island), Amakusa, which holds the history of Christianity spreading during the Edo period and the subsequent persecution, is now receiving renewed attention as a resort area rich in tourism resources, as well as a region cultivating various ingredients such as Amakusa black beef and seafood.

This time, we introduce a second house located in a small cove of Amakusa Matsushima. With intentionally low ceiling heights, consideration for sightlines from the bathroom, and a sense of integration with the coastline... there were various design considerations incorporated as much as possible according to the owner's wishes.

Lower the ceiling height in the living room to highlight the spectacular view.

A second house standing in a small cove of Amakusa Matsushima. Surrounded by almost no artificial structures, you are overwhelmed by the natural beauty formed by the sky, sea, and islands.

The site is approximately 430 tsubo, but since the owner mainly uses it for hobbies such as fishing, the building volume is kept to a minimum. By placing the building right next to the sea, it achieves integration with the sea. Also, the ceiling height in the living room is set at 2250 mm, which is relatively low, making the wide panoramic view stand out. These design considerations give a sense of spaciousness within the limited floor area of 88 square meters.

It is said that enjoying a coffee break on the terrace while gazing at the sunset reflecting on the orange-colored water is a blissful moment.
