This is a festival where the younger deity of Mikami Shrine, located at Sado Cape, is carried by palanquin to visit the elder deity of Chikatsu Shrine, about 20 kilometers away, to pay New Year's greetings. It is a festival where people pray for bountiful fishing, good harvests, and good health, and has been designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of the Prefecture.

On the morning of the 14th, the mikoshi procession departed from Misaki Shrine and proceeded along the seven coastal villages (Nanaura). Before reaching the destination, there was a steep slope called "Donhira-zaka" at Sakamoto. They carefully and slowly descended the mountain path to avoid dropping the mikoshi. On the 15th, there was a ritual at the precinct of Otsu Shrine to pray for a bountiful harvest. (Shinichi Sengaki)
